“Lord of the flies” – only with girls!

Recently, we are increasingly forced to wonder about those or other controversial decisions of Hollywood producers – they will choose a black actor to play a character who in the original were white, the floor will be replaced by someone known to the heroes. And you start to resent how, why, for what – so I get the accusations of racism or chauvinism, which sometimes, if we are to talk seriously covering their Asses the very savvy guys-the producers in case of failure. They say it’s not our idiotic politicized decisions to blame, and the audience is racist. Yeah, well, of course.

What is I? And the fact that Warner Bros. not averse to a further adaptation of the famous novel by writer William Golding’s “Lord of the flies” (Lord of the Flies). The book – which really is not big in volume, so if you haven’t read it, do it (after all, “Lord of the flies” is in the top 100 novels of horrors all time) – tells the story of how a group of boys lands on a deserted island and quickly descends to the level of primitive society. The novel, already filmed in 1963 and 1990. Difference of the new version will be that the plot will be girls.

Good or bad – it is difficult to judge. The Duo of writers-Directors consisting of Scott Machihe and David Siegel (on account of the drama “Divorce in the city” 2012) swears that, with the exception of this one fundamental change they remain faithful to the letter and spirit of the original.

We want to make very loyal, but a more modern adaptation of the book, and our idea is to do all of that with girls, not with boys. This story is timeless, which is particularly relevant today, interpersonal conflict and intimidation, and with the idea that children form a society and reproduce the behavior seen in adults before he was in isolation.

You guys think you’ll be able to look at this story in a new way just due to the fact that it will replace the boys and the girls. Well, let’s see what they get. And we hope that this change they will not be “for show”, as often happens in Hollywood.
