In the depths of the Earth discovered a huge “conveyor”

The Japanese, Swiss and American psychologists have described the mechanism of the “pipeline” transfer of matter in the Earth’s mantle. A study published in the journal Nature Geoscience, and briefly about it reports the Tokyo Institute of technology (Japan).

According to the construction of authors, the viscosity of the upper and lower layers of the mantle differ up to 20 times, and their alignment is hampered by the existence of ascending from the nucleus of currents, bounding homogeneous in its properties of mantle domains.

Scientists described structure, according to them, exists in a stable condition over the past 4.5 billion years, since the birth of the Earth. The theory takes into account the subduction of lithospheric plates (dip one under the other), culminating in the flooding of the lower layer of the lithosphere in the mantle layer.
