Honored artist of Russia, died at 93 year of life

In Krasnodar has passed a famous actress and honored artist of the RSFSR and the Russian Elena Afanasyeva. Her passing was reported in the press center of the Krasnodar Academic drama theatre named after Gorky.

Elena Afanasyeva turned 92 years old. She lived a long creative life.

After the great Patriotic war, in 1947, Afanasyev graduated from the Shchukin theater school. Her teachers were the famous Lviv Faith and Leonid Shikhmatov, luminaries of the Soviet scene. Her first job was the theater of the black sea fleet in Sevastopol. After 12 years Afanasyeva retired and moved to Krasnodar, where he went to work in Krasnodar drama theatre named after Gorky. In the theater, and took almost the whole creative life of the artist. Afanasyev worked in this theatre for almost 30 years.

Over the years she has played main roles in several productions that later became the hallmark of the theater. The most famous was the role of Diana in the play “dog in the manger” Lope de VEGA, which put the chief Director of the theatre M. A. Kulikovsky 400th anniversary of the author. This performance has become a legend of the Krasnodar theater. In 1965 she was awarded the title of honored artist of the RSFSR.
