The largest U.S. refinery in Port Arthur (Texas) was closed due to flooding caused by hurricane “Harvey”.
“On Wednesday, Motiva began a controlled stop of the refinery in Port Arthur, to eliminate the consequences of flooding”, — said in a release. The company said that the resumption of work at the refinery will depend on the descending water.
On Tuesday, the media reported that the plant is working at 60% of its refining capacity, later it was reported on the work at 40% power. Only refineries capable of processing about 603 thousand barrels of oil per day.
