Explained the origin of the anesthetic gas of the Earth

About 22 percent of the xenon that are currently on the planet were brought by comets.

An international team of scientists explained the origin of Earth’s atmosphere is xenon — a noble gas that is often used for anesthesia. A study published in the journal Science.

Experts believe that approximately 22 percent of xenon, which is currently on the planet were brought by comets.

To such conclusions scientists have come, having compared the information on the Ground and discovered the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko isotopes of a chemical element. Studies conducted in low earth orbit station Rosetta 14-31 may 2016, has shown that xenon on a celestial body trapped in cometary ice.

Xenon, the 54th chemical element of the periodic table, is a monatomic gas. On Earth it is most often found in the atmosphere (0,087 ppm), and very rarely in the earth’s crust. Xenon is used for anesthesia, inhalation with the use of this gas WADA equated to doping.
