Healthy sleep – the best gift you can do to your body.
Although 8 hours of sleep has long been considered the optimal norm for any adult, the national Institute of Sleep USA has revised some of its recommendations and released new rules of sleep depending on age.
Newborns (0-3 months). 14-17 hours (previously 12-18);
Infants (4-11 months). 12-15 hours (previously 14-15);
Toddlers (1-2 years). 11-14 hours (previously 12-14);
Preschoolers (3-5 years): the range of sleep increased by one hour to 10-13 hours (previously it was 11-13);
School-age children (6-13 years). 9-11 hours (previously 10-11);
Teenagers (14-17 years). 8-10 hours (previously 8.5 to 9.5) and;
Young people (18-25 years). 7-9 hours (previously, this age category, scientists are not isolated);
Adults (26-64 years). 7-9 hours (previously the range of sleep was the same);
Elderly (65+). 7-8 hours (new age category).
