Crossover Tesla Model X received the highest rating in the history of NHTSA testing

In the event of an accident the driver and passengers of cars have a 93% chance to avoid serious injury

The national authority for road safety USA (NHTSA) awarded the Tesla Model X electric car the maximum five-star rating in three major categories (frontal collision with full overlap, side impact movable truck and a pole), as well as nine subcategories.

Thus, talovskoe creation became the first crossover in the history of the NHTSA test, earned the highest marks “in all directions”.

Experts NHTSA came to the conclusion that in the case of a critical accident, the driver and passengers of the Model X have a 93 percent chance of avoiding serious injury. Affected by the fact that zones front and rear absorbing impact energy, the electric vehicle is larger. 12 belts and airbags also worked perfectly.

“Model X is much better protection in accidents than SUVs with the engine, thanks to the all-electric architecture and design of the powertrain. The battery is mounted under the floor, and it creates a much lower center of gravity, that the probability of a rollover goes to zero. No other crossover has never been closer to fulfillment of this requirement,” noted chaslovtsy.
