The Ukrainian economy is growing very slowly in comparison with other developing countries.
The state statistics service confirmed its preliminary estimate that gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in January-March 2018 amounted to 3.1% compared to the same period of 2017.
According to the statistical office, nominal GDP for the quarter amounted to 700,4 billion, but GDP per one person – UAH 16537, changing the deflator – 14,9%.
In January, the international monetary Fund raised its forecast for global growth in 2018 to 3.9%, while in developing countries, GDP will grow by 5.0%.
Ukraine’s economy is officially out of recession, which lasted from the second half of 2012, in the first half of 2016.
