Ukrainian tourists can travel to Turkey by ID cards

Home in Turkey you can ride from the beginning of the tourist season this year.

To visit Turkey at the ID-card Ukrainians will be able from the beginning of the tourist season.

“Element in the facilitation of the visits of both countries will be the completion of negotiations on the agreement which will allow crossing the border on the basis of ID-card, i.e. on the basis of an internal document in the form of the ID-card. Now the negotiating group is actively working on the completion of the relevant bilateral document. The reference point of the beginning of this initiative – beginning of the tourist season,” – said the Ukrainian Ambassador in Turkey Andrey Sibiga.

“Last year, the period of stay for citizens of both countries without visa has been increased to 90 days, which positively affected the dynamics of travel. In particular, last year Turkey was visited by a record number of citizens of Ukraine – more than 1 million tourists. Today we are in fifth place among other foreign nationals who visit Turkey. On the other hand, the Turkish tourist flow into Ukraine increased by 25-28% and is about 200 thousand citizens of Turkey. This was facilitated by the establishment of additional air traffic and the launch of a direct flight Ankara – Kiev”, – said the Ukrainian Ambassador.

In addition, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine believe that if the agreement on trips under internal passports will be signed, we can expect growth of tourist flow by 30-50%.
