The Polish government plans to simplify employment opportunities for doctors from Ukraine in order to overcome the shortage of health workers in Polish hospitals.
“We are considering the possibility to apply the German approach to the provision of foreign doctors licenses so they could practice at a certain workplace”, – said the press-Secretary of the Ministry of security zborow I of Poland Milena Zaslavskaya.
As noted, currently, physicians from countries other than the EU, should confirm the diploma in Poland, to close the difference in education and pass exams on knowledge of medical terminology in the Polish language, as well as the right to work in Poland, the report said. These requirements and plans to simplify the government.
In Poland doctors are dissatisfied with the level of their remuneration. After a three-week protest of young doctors, October 19, the Polish government announced a significant increase in health care costs.
During the protest several dozen young doctors began a hunger strike in a children’s hospital in Warsaw. Later they were joined by protesters in Szczecin and łódź. They demand higher health budget to 6.8% of GDP by 2021, from the current 4.7 per cent.
Now in Poland 1 137 foreign doctors, including 306 from Ukraine, from Belarus 139 and 81 from Germany.
