The national security Council and defense of Ukraine recommends to the Cabinet of Ministers to increase spending on defense and security for 9 billion hryvnia. This was stated by NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov.
“The national security Council recommended that the government, I hope that this recommendation will be supported by all deputies who care about protecting our country, – the proposal is for a significant increase in spending on defense and security of Ukraine”, – he said.
Turchynov noted that the government has been encouraged to invest to the sector of defence and security 3 billion from the General Fund budget and 6 billion UAH from the special Fund of the state budget.
According to the NSDC Secretary, the additional financing of the special Fund is expected due to the confiscated funds of the ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and his entourage. These funds will be used for the purchase of arms, military equipment and ammunition.
