Use one slice of cheese per day significantly reduces the risk of heart attack.
The attention of researchers from Suzhou University was attracted by the fact that the people of France, who consume a lot of saturated fat and cholesterol, rarely suffer from cardiovascular diseases. This feature is called the “French paradox”.
The researchers analyzed 15 scientific works devoted to the relationship of certain diets with various diseases. They found that eating just 40 grams of cheese reduces the risk of heart disease by 14% and stroke risk by 10%.
According to the researchers, these results are explained by the fact that cheese contains a large number of “good” cholesterol — high density lipoproteins, which contribute to reducing the risk of atherosclerosis, stroke and heart attack. Due to this, in this dairy product reduced the content of “harmful” cholesterol — low-density lipoprotein, blocking narrow blood vessels and causing disturbances in the cardiovascular system. In addition, cheese contains substances which prevent the blockage of arteries.
Experts note that the composition of cheese is a great amount of saturated fats, which usually provoke heart disease. However, it also contains calcium, which helps the body to easily digest these substances.
