“About 20 people were killed and around 15 were missing Friday after a wooden boat, which was about 60 wedding guests, crashed into a cargo ship and sank in the South-West of Myanmar,” the statement reads.

The boat was not illuminated and crashed into a cargo ship on the river in the town of Pathein, about 7:20 p.m. local time. Rescuers continue to search for survivors.

“The authorities in the port study the cause of the crash”, – said the representative of the local government, Zhuo Myint.
