“The plans of the main command of the Navy to equip the mine-sweeping forces of the Navy with new ships mine defense project 12700 envisages the construction in the short term 40 ships of this project”, — quotes RIA “news” words of the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Victor Borsuk.
The Navy expects that in 2018 Sredne-Nevsky shipyard will build at least two ships a year.
It is noted that the lead ship of the project 12700 “Alexander Obukhov” already carries out tasks in the Navy, is currently building three ships — “Georgy Kurbatov”, “Ivan Antonov”, “Vladimir Yemelyanov”.
