The number of foreign tourists visited Ukraine last year

Ukraine last year paid 14.2 million foreign tourists. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry of economic development.

“In 2018, our country was visited by 14.2 million foreigners, we are working to increase this figure to about 30 million tourists annually. This can be done through the development of tourist opportunities of the capital and regions”, – stated in the message.

An important component of the work of the Ministry is the submission of Ukraine to the world. This year on the development of tourism of Ukraine, the budget provides UAH 17 million.

“In 2019 we plan to present our country as an interesting tourist destination for important international exhibitions in London, Singapore, Barcelona and Shanghai,” said the Ministry.

At the same time, the Ministry of economic development, as the state regulator in the field of tourism, working not only on the popularization of Ukraine, but also over how to better protect our visitors.

“We developed the bill to increase the financial responsibility of tour operators. The initiative is to establish a daily financial security at 5% of the turnover of the tour operator and not less than € 50 thousand”, – stated in the message.
