The Museum visitor in Washington broke a sculpture for $800 thousand.

A tourist broke a valuable piece, trying to make a spectacular selfie.

The incident occurred at the Museum and sculpture garden the Hirshhorn. From the actions of a careless visitor affected the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

Exhibition of Kusama “Infinity mirror” was opened at the Washington Museum on February 23. In the hall of distorting mirrors was exhibited metre pumpkins, painted with polka dots.

The Museum visitor tried to take a selfie with one of these pumpkins and dumped the sculpture, throwing her off balance. In October 2015 the same pumpkin Kusama was sold at auction for 784 thousand dollars.

Hall closed to all visitors. But organizers of the exhibition of the famous Japanese artist promise to soon re-open it.
