The most useful juice for men’s health

It can significantly reduce the risk of stroke.

Tomatoes and other foods rich in lycopene can reduce the risk of stroke in men, say the authors of a new study.

They found that men with high levels of lycopene in the blood by 55 percent lower risk of stroke compared to those who have low levels of this substance in the blood, writes of woman-talk.zamuchennye from the University of Eastern Finland analyzed, what substances can decrease the ability of LDL (“bad” cholesterol) to form plaque in the arteries, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes, the researchers said.

They watched the health status of 1,031 men in Finland aged 46 to 65 years at baseline over a 12-year period.

During this time, 67 men had a stroke.

The researchers measured the levels of lycopene in the blood of men, and divided them into four equivalent groups based on level.

Of the 258 men with the lowest levels of lycopene suffered a stroke at 25, of 259 with the highest level of — 11.

Lycopene also has other properties that allow to consider it very beneficial for the cardiovascular system, researchers say.

Lycopene is a substance thanks to which vegetables and fruits become red. Most of the lycopene in tomatoes, to be exact — in tomato juice and pasta.
