The law on education: Poland wants to hear the position of Ukraine

The poles want to hear the position of Ukraine on the language issue.

The education Ministers of Poland and Ukraine will discuss the controversial language law.

This was reported to journalists by the Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Inferno.

According to him, will also be consultations with the Polish national minority in Ukraine.

“Consultations will be held between our and Ukrainian ministries of education. We don’t yet know how will be the process itself. We want to clarify the position of the Ukrainian side. Also consultation will be undertaken with the Polish minority in Ukraine”, – he said.

According to Thick, the Polish side considers it necessary to ensure Ukraine the possibility of studying native language by national minorities.

Recall that on 12 October the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted the decision with the recommendations of the Ukraine at the end of an urgent debate on the law “On education”. The decision of the PACE quite harshly condemns the fact that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on education, by modifying article 7 (language of education) without consultation with representatives of national minorities.
