The Finance Minister made an important statement on the next tranche of the IMF

The head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Alexander danyluk wait to receive the next tranche of the International monetary Fund (IMF) under the EFF program by the end of 2017.

“We expect to get the tranche by the end of the year”, – said danyluk during a briefing in Washington on Sunday after a meeting with the leadership of the IMF a day earlier.

The Minister noted that progress has been made in negotiations on the price of gas. “We have not yet reached a final agreement, but we moved, fixed certain principles. The negotiations are ongoing,” he said.

In addition, the Minister of Finance announced the completion together with the IMF’s analysis of the law on pension reform.

“In General there are no fundamental differences we have found and I am sure that we will receive positive feedback from both the world Bank and the IMF”, – said danyluk.

In response to the question regarding the risks to the economy of Ukraine in case of non-receipt by the end of the year tranche of the IMF, the Finance Minister expressed confidence that the funds will be received. “We hope that we will get,” he said.

“But overall, we are not in a situation where two months have changed something. We worked very hard to strengthen our economy, to now not to count days and months. The main issue is to adopt a law on privatization, it is important to find a fair formula of gas. When we accomplish this, then the issue of the tranche will be a technical issue,” – said danyluk.
