The inhabitants of the occupied Crimea for the first time will have to serve the whole of Russia

Until this year, Crimeans served on the Peninsula.

Residents of Crimea have begun to call for service in the Russian army on the territory of Russia, said the Russian defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

“Tomorrow will start the next draft campaign, which runs until July 15. According to the decree of the President of Russia it is planned to call 142 thousand people. Among them – citizens of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, which since the spring of this year will take place military service in all parts of our country,” Shoigu was quoted by Interfax.

The Minister instructed to organize a solemn ceremony of sending recruits “with the participation of parents, veterans, representatives of religious confessions, of the Cossacks and other public organizations”.

In may 2015 the first recruits-Crimeans went to serve in the Russian army, but to serve as they had in the Crimean Peninsula.
