The Chinese presented the world’s first ship powered by electricity

Need to charge two hours.

This week the world’s first ship powered by electricity, was launched in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.

Its displacement is 2 tons. The battery charging time to two hours. When fully charged it can swim 80 miles.

The total length of the vessel is 70.5 m, width is 13.9 meters, draught of 3.3 meters. The crew consists of six people.

The power plant includes two electric motors with a lithium battery. To fully charge the vessel required two hours. Therefore, during charging in the port, you can simultaneously exercise handling, as the process also takes about two hours.

Electrosun capacity is 2 thousand tons, it is suitable for cargo traffic on the pearl river.

Technology ships operating on “clean” energy, it is planned to apply also to passenger and maintenance of water transport.
