Ukrainian tankers took fifth place on the international tank of the competition “Strong Europe”, held from 7 to 12 may at the training center Command training, the 7th Army of the US forces in Grafenberg, Germany.
A Strong championship Challenge 2017 Europe Tank won tank platoon of the armed forces of Austria tanks Leopard 2A4. Second place went to German tankers on the tank Leopard 2A6. “Bronze” has got American soldiers on tanks Abrams M1A2 SEP.
Ukrainian tankers on the rating, the points took the fifth place, demonstrating one of the three best shooting results with the regular shell of the tank.
A high level of training of the Ukrainian soldiers said the commander of Land forces of USA in Europe three-star General Ben Hodges.
“Ukrainian soldiers only among participants who have real combat experience against enemy tanks. All listen to their experience,” said Hodges, adding that the experience of the Ukrainian squad, who fought against Russian tanks is extremely useful for all participants.
As a reminder, the competition was attended by tank units of the Armed Forces of the United States, Germany, France, Poland and Austria. From Ukraine participated tank platoon 14-th separate mechanized brigade of Land forces of VS of Ukraine under the command of captain Roman Bagaeva on regular service – upgraded tanks T-64BV.
