Vision EQ Smart ForTwo received the autopilot system of the fifth level. This means that for the vehicle control electronics completely answers — that of the prototype do not exist organs of external control in the form of a steering wheel and brake and accelerator. Passengers only need to activate the system and specify a destination endpoint.

Vision EQ Smart ForTwo is equipped with batteries with a capacity of 30 kW-h When the electric car will not be used, the autopilot will automatically send a car to the nearest charging station.

Previously, Smart said that in their presentation of the cars of the future will not only be able to move independently on roads, but also to “communicate” with each other. This will help not only to improve safety but also to optimize urban traffic. The more people will use the system short term car rental is the fact fewer cars will be on the roads.

At the Frankfurt motor show will also debut a prototype of a compact electric hatchback Mercedes-Benz.
