The Germans will bring to the Frankfurt motor show a prototype vehicle for car sharing with automatic control system of the fifth level.
Company Smart has unveiled a prototype electric vehicle urban Vision EQ ForTwo with fully automatic control system, which gives an idea of the perfect car for car sharing. Public premiere of a prototype will take place on 12 September at the Frankfurt motor show, informs a press-service of Daimler.
For its size the Smart ForTwo Vision EQ identical to a standard compact car ForTwo — dimensional length was 2.69 meters. In the prototype applied technologies that will begin to use on production cars no earlier than 2025.
Vision EQ Smart ForTwo received the autopilot system of the fifth level. This means that for the vehicle control electronics completely answers — that of the prototype do not exist organs of external control in the form of a steering wheel and brake and accelerator. Passengers only need to activate the system and specify a destination endpoint.
In the double cabin car has a large display with a diagonal of 24 inches, where displays all necessary information, including the GPS data and the travel time. The multimedia complex can be synchronized with your mobile gadgets, allowing you to view videos, photos and social networks.
In place of the radiator grille has established a 44-inch monitor, with which the car can “communicate” with pedestrians. For example, tell them about the possibility to cross the road in front of the car. On the door are located two information display, which will broadcast weather forecasts and local news at a time when the machine is not busy.
Vision EQ Smart ForTwo is equipped with batteries with a capacity of 30 kW-h When the electric car will not be used, the autopilot will automatically send a car to the nearest charging station.
Previously, Smart said that in their presentation of the cars of the future will not only be able to move independently on roads, but also to “communicate” with each other. This will help not only to improve safety but also to optimize urban traffic. The more people will use the system short term car rental is the fact fewer cars will be on the roads.
At the Frankfurt motor show will also debut a prototype of a compact electric hatchback Mercedes-Benz. It is assumed that “green” model A-class, designed to compete with the BMW i3, will be launched in serial production in 2020. By 2025, the electric family of cars Mercedes-Benz will consist of up to ten models.
