Interestingly, this clue helped them analyze the position of the body and the sounds of animals.
The study involved 29 cats from an animal shelter. For this experiment, we developed a special program called CatFACS, which deals with the decoding of facial action, for the detection of minute changes on the face of the cat when interacting with a person. According to this analysis, the facial expressions of cats are mostly represented in three States: relaxed part, fear and frustration. Emotions such as happiness or sadness, most of them were not observed.
Slow blinking or my half-closed eyes indicate lazy indifference. However, wide open unblinking eyes say experience cat fear. Hissing and licking of the nose point to the frustration which in cats is a synonym of anger. These same markers are pressed ears and meowing with wide mouth opening.
