Lookout country residence designed by Omar Gandhi Architect firm, gracefully stretched out along the narrow stretch of land located between a dirt road and high scenic sea coast in Inverness, Canada.

This small coastal town popular with tourists and holidaymakers due to its sandy beaches, dunes and the Golf courses are world class.

Clients — a couple from Toronto, have three adult children — bought a narrow strip of coastline for the gorgeous sunset views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, hoping to create a nest where you can meet the whole family.

The layout of one-storey houses built along a long corridor with a series of adjoining public and private spaces overlooking the ocean beach.

Half of the building given the large common room that includes a Seating area, kitchen and living room. The center of this open space is a five-meter island, which serves as both for cooking and as dining table.

At the other end of the house there are three compartments, signifying the private area of the home — bedrooms and bathrooms.

The facade, facing the ocean, you’ll be panoramic Windows, while the opposite retaining wall with a selection of top Windows, allowing you to get inside the gentle rays of light from the North-East. A simple roof hangs over the building like field hats pulled low, shielding the interior from the intense summer sun and at the same time emphasizing the horizontal lines of the coastal landscape. Above the kitchen part of the roof is raised as the visor, accentuating the heart of the public area of the house.
