Regular ground beef can be hazardous to health

A check carried out by selective forces of Greenpeace, showed in half of the cases, the presence of multiresistant strains.

Environmental organization Greenpeace for the Austrian Agency for food safety conducted a review of 12 meat products.

In the case of minced meat half of the samples (three of six) were infected with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Multiresistant bacterial strains is extremely dangerous, as these infections are difficult to treat. In meat products such microbes are due to the extensive use of antibiotics in livestock (especially pig and poultry), which leads to the excretion of resistant to the drug forms.

According to expert estimates, in Austria, the animal consumes annually up to 50 tons of antibiotics, causing them not to work also in treating people. Experts Greenpeace is recommended after contact with raw meat wash hands thoroughly, carefully fry the product while cooking.
