Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday fired the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Vladimir Gorodetsky. This is the eighth in a series of layoffs that began on 25 September.
Vladimir Gorodetsky became the seventh Governor, dismissed over the last two weeks.
Besides him, the posts were removed the Governor of the Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions Nikolay Merkushkin and Valery Shantsev, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk territory Viktor Tolokonsky, Chairman of the Nenets Autonomous district Igor Koshin and the Governor of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov.
Also in this period released the post Oleg Bad, who was the chief of the office of the President on corruption issues.
All the release is listed as “resign voluntarily”.
