Poroshenko has signed the law “On electricity market”

The document introduces the rules of the Third energy package of the EU.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On electricity market”. He did it during a visit to Tripoli TPP in the town of Ukrainka, Kiev region.

“Here today, and not in the office, with you I have made a decision on the signing of this law and the beginning of the creation process of the electricity market”, – the President said before signing the law.

The head of state added that from now on will start serious work on the implementation of standards and technologies, which include signed a revolutionary law.

“The market model is such that for which the work of European Union countries. Goal – we move on to the joint energy system of the European Union. Will introduced the electricity exchange, and your station will also have the opportunity to receive a fair price,” – said Poroshenko.

Note that the draft law “On electricity market” provides for the introduction of new market model that includes a number of segments: bilateral contracts market, the market “day ahead”, vnutricletocny market, balancing market and ancillary services market. In the implementation of the act provides for a two-year transition period.

The document introduces the rules of the Third energy package of the EU, including in the share of companies in the areas of distribution and transmission of electricity.
