On the Rovno nuclear power plant suddenly cut off unit

On Friday, 25 August 2017 15:53 of power unit №4 of Rivne NPP was disconnected from the power grid.

This was reported in the press service of the National nuclear energy generating company.

According to the press service, the outage has occurred under the action of automatic protection of the generator.

“The event classified as a level “zero – out” scale, according to a rating scale of nuclear events INES. Radiation, fire and environmental condition at the RNPP and the surrounding area has not changed and is within the existing norms,” the company said.

After turning off the power at the plant is searched to eliminate the causes of this event.

However, as of 9 a.m. August 26 new reports on the reasons for the stop did not appear.
