NATO will not abandon the idea of reception in your part of Ukraine

The Secretary General stressed that the promises of non-expansion of the Alliance was not.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance will not abandon the idea of reception in your part of Ukraine and Georgia. He told about it in interview to the newspaper Le Temps.

“If NATO starts to say that you can close doors to such countries as Ukraine or Georgia, to soften relations with Russia, it would mean to accept the unacceptable: the restoration of spheres of influence, in which great powers unable to make decisions for a small country,” he said.

Stoltenberg stressed that guarantees and promises not to expand NATO and no one gave.

“No such promises or agreements, I can show you any documentation, if someone wants it,” – said the Secretary General, noting that such a decision would be totally unacceptable.
