During a two-week experiment experimental aging rodents were given the substance flavonoid epicatechin which is a powerful antioxidant and is contained in large amounts in dark chocolate.
Thanks to this drug in animals significantly decreased the level of oxidative stress and inflammation of nerve fibers. But we know that these two factors in most cases are sources of the development of serious neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.
In addition, the researchers recorded test subjects improved memory and reducing symptoms of anxiety.
In this connection experts recommend every day to eat at least a small amount of dark chocolate in order to live a long, healthy and fulfilling life.
