The head of the Committee for defence of the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Pashinsky has acted with the legislative initiative regarding the service of Ukrainians in the army. In particular, he called for equal rights for women and men who serve in the ranks of the APU.
According to him, he turned to the Vice-speaker Irina Gerashchenko at the conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada with the proposal to introduce a bill to Parliament.
Pashinsky sure that the agreement will ensure the equal right of women during military service.
“We have to be sure you understand, under current legislation, a woman with a gun in the trenches may be, and occupy the officer positions not. And I’m asking you, as first Vice-speaker, fill the bill. Waiting for women who want to make a military career, and we discriminate against them”, — he said.
Previously, the General Directorate of development and support of the material support of the armed forces showed how they care about the comfort women fighters.
