The Verkhovna Rada has banned a St. George’s ribbon, in Ukraine. For the bill voted 238 deputies.
According to sakoku in the Code of administrative offences introduced article entitled “Production and promotion of St. George (guards) ribbon”.
For public display or carrying of the tape provides punishment in the form of 50-150 times the minimum (850-2550 hryvnia).
In case of repeated offense during one year – from 150 to 300 non-taxable minimum (2550-5100 UAH) and administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
The initiator of the bill MP from NF Anton Gerashchenko. In his explanatory note said that the St. George’s ribbon, in Ukraine has become “a symbol of Russian occupation and aggression.”
