Turkish police conducted an operation in seven districts of Istanbul, during which they detained 49 people. They are suspected in planning of resonant terror acts before the nationwide referendum on changing the Constitution.
Security officials assume that these people can be associated with the terrorist group Islamic state.
It is also reported that among the detainees, only eight people are citizens of Turkey, all the rest are foreigners.
Police seized three pistols, ammunition, a machete and more than 340 thousand dollars in cash.
