Indian doctors from the hospital, Dzaipi in the city of Noida has successfully operated on a child from Iraq who was born with eight limbs.
Doctors call the disease the child polymelia. The treatment of the boy, whose name is Karam, took place in three stages: first, removed the extra legs, then the doctors carried out operations on the cardiovascular system to maintain normal heart function and blood flow of the body, at the last stage was removed an extra set of hands.
It is noted that the doctor did not just remove the organs, but corrected physiological weaknesses that developed because of the disease- corrected the placing of the feet, posture, transplanted muscle from the remote leg to the left, “healthy”, but the underdevelopment of the leg.
The last operation lasted eight hours.
According to doctors, Karam recovering after the surgery and on Monday will be able to return home.
