Three dead and many wounded

Monday morning in Washington state in the Western United States have wrecked a speedy passenger train. 77 people were taken to hospitals. By Monday evening it was known at least three of the victims.

The composition, carrying out the first flight on new route Seattle – Portland, derailed on an overpass near the city of Tacoma, 132-ton locomotive fell on passing under the railway multilane highway. Two cars fell by the wayside, the other two were hanging from the bridge. Just derailed 13 cars. On the rails stood a single car and trailing locomotive composition.

Only the train was carrying 78 passengers and 7 crew members. Many of the passengers managed to get out of the cars through the Windows.

During the crash the highway was filled with car, luckily none of the drivers and passengers of the car died.

The speed limit on the newly opened high-speed rail is 130 kilometres per hour. How fast moving train approaching the bridge on which the accident occurred while making a turn, is not yet known. It is not known exactly and in what state was the way.

It was the first flight of high-speed trains on the new railway line connecting the two largest cities in the Northwest United States. This line was built in the framework of the Federal program to stimulate economic growth, adopted after the financial crisis of 2008.

By the end of 2018, according to the law, all ambulance passenger journeys must be installed an automatic braking system that will slow down traffic on the dangerous sections of the route or when approaching speed to the maximum. On this stretch of road automatic braking system was not working.

The US President Donald trump was notified of the crash a few minutes after the incident.
