In Russia may ban plastic bags

In Russia may ban disposable plastic bags to stores. The reduction of the production until a complete ban will be phased, have informed “news” in the CPS. The service has prepared proposals on amendments to the law on wastes of production, soon they will be sent for approval to the Department concerned.

The initiative has conceptually supported by the Ministry of environment. Restricting the sale of plastic bags will help to reduce the negative impact on the environment, hopefully in the Department. Earlier, an initiative to ban plastic bags in stores were made by the Council on human rights under the President of the Russian Federation (HRC).

The proposal of the CPS corresponds to the global policy of disposable plastic products. So, at the end of March the European Parliament adopted a law according to which in the EU from 2021 will be banned the production and sale of these goods. It is including plastic utensils, containers for food, Cutlery, straws for drinks and padded sticks. The prohibition of manufacturing of any products in the territory of the Russian Federation engaged in the Ministry.

In Russia a few years ago, plastic bags in chain stores free of charge. Gradually this practice started to decline and many retailers, including the network of “Auchan”, “Coswell”, Spar and “ABC taste”, began to sell packages that caused the fall of demand for them by almost half.
