Facebook introduced a new button for reviews

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the GIF format social network Facebook added a button to insert gifs in the comments.

The company also announced that during the past year, Messenger was sent nearly 13 billion GIF-images, of which 400 million on 1 January 2017.

A new button allows users to search and add comments GIF animations from services like Giphy and Tenor. In the desktop version of the social network also shows popular GIF – like in Facebook Messenger.

It is not excluded that in the future the same button will be added and for Postings in the news feed.

Recall that Facebook has implemented GIF support in 2015. To share animation users have to insert in the record the URL of an image from a third-party service.

Testing buttons “GIF” in the review was launched in March.
