Facebook announced a “crusade” against the Russian “Troll factories”

The administration of the social network don’t like suspicious activities of some communities.

Facebook September 6, announced that as part of an investigation on the possible use of its platform to influence U.S. elections social network has revealed hundreds of fake accounts, managed by from Russia with so called “Troll factory”.

They bought paid distribution of posts within two years. All groups found Facebook was blocked, but the “factory” saying that 20% of the communities remained in place. These are the main findings of the investigation:

-470 fake accounts launched from Russia
they bought 3000 of paid ads for 100 thousand dollars
-locked 25 pages of Facebook, 32 the account in instagram and 50 on Twitter
their total audience exceeded 5 million subscribers
