“Compared with 2015, an increase of 5 %, and for the period from 2012 to 2016 the average annual growth rate was 8 %. The achieved results are twice higher than the global growth of the tourism industry over the same period, provided by the world tourism organization”, — noted in the Department of tourism and Commerce marketing of Dubai.
By 2020 Dubai plans to receive 20 million annually. According to the Department, at preservation of such rates of increase of tourist flow, the goal will be achieved.
The largest number of tourists coming to Dubai from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. For 2016, the total number of travelers from this region grew by 5 % and amounted to 3,4 million people.
On the second place in terms of demand is Western Europe, where last year came to 3.1 million people, which is 4% higher than a year earlier. The third place is occupied by the countries of South Asia, particularly India, which last year net profit of 1.8 million tourists, 12% more than in 2015.
Russia, CIS and Central Europe together constitute 5% of the total tourist flow to Dubai. For 2016 the number of Russian tourists in Dubai increased by 14% compared to 2015 year and amounted to 240 thousand people. In the tourist office predict that the trend will continue in the future, because Russia in February 2017, has become the 47th country for the citizens which was introduced the provision of free visa when entering the UAE.
