In a study conducted by researchers from the University Jyuvyaskyulya, involved 133 office worker. Volunteers told how to spend less time sitting, become more active at work and in your free time. The level of activity of participants was assessed using a special device for 7 days 5 times a year.
The study showed that participants, who began to sit for 21 minutes less per day, decreased levels of sugar and cholesterol in the blood. In addition, 20 minutes of physical activity protected the muscles of the legs. As you know, due to a sedentary lifestyle muscles will decrease. The researchers add that even working parents can become more active and to serve their children a good example.
Previously, scientists found that physical activity level of the parent directly affect the activity of the child. The study showed that for every minute that a parent is spent sitting, physical activity of a child decreased by 0.10 minutes. Conversely, every minute, light physical activity of parents, the time that the child was given a light physical activity increased by 0.6 minutes.
