Doctors suggest all give up energy drinks

Scientists shared the shocking results of the research.

Employees of the University of Maryland followed by young people within 5 years (from 21 years to 25 years).

The researchers noticed that the volunteers who regularly drank energy drinks with high caffeine content, in the future, often used psychoactive substances (surfactants).

In particular, participants addicted to energy drinks high in caffeine, at the age of 25 years abused alcohol and used stimulants like cocaine are more likely than volunteers who are not fond of energy drinks.

Experts took into account other factors that increase the risk of substance use.

By the way, another study conducted in Canada showed that teenagers who drink energy drinks are much more likely to get a head injury compared to those who do not consume drinks containing caffeine. Thus, traumatic brain injuries were seen among participants who drank energy drinks last week, 5 times more often than among those who did not consume energy.
