Boryspil airport will reduce fees for the carriage of passengers

The draft provisions on the use of reduction factors applied to airport charges in performing regular flights.

Boryspil airport has submitted a draft regulation on the application of reduction factors applied to airport charges in performing regular flights.

According to General Director of the airport Yevhen Dykhne, the airport seeks to expand its route network, therefore, introduces incentive program for airlines, which subsequently should lead to a significant increase in passenger traffic, including transit.

“In the next two years Borispol wants to look like airport Warsaw, and we want to develop the Western direction to the same extent as Warsaw. If we have the same increase in 2017, and in 2016, we will reach the milestone of 10 million passengers per year. But the question is, how? We are interested in expanding the market for the Boryspil airport,” – said Eugene Dykhne.

The document will be sent to the Ministry of infrastructure to review, after which must be signed and will come into force. “The situation is valid until 2021 or until the moment when the passenger traffic of the airport will be 20 million passengers a year, depending on what will come earlier”, – the document says.

According to the document, which is available to CTS, it is proposed to introduce discounts for the implementation of new international flights by the airlines. At the same time, the new flight is in the case if during the year on this route was not satisfied with the flights. Airlines should note that the discount will be provided if the new flight will be operated with a frequency of at least once a week. In addition, the new route will be considered, if you are from Borispol to airport in less than 100 km from which there is no other airport where a flight from Borispol.

If all conditions are met, then the airlines will be able to count on the following discounts: first year 75% second year 50% third year 25%, fourth year – 10%. Discount for take-off and landing charge and passenger service.

For transit passengers, whose number in Boryspil airport at the end of last year amounted to 2.31 million people (most of the provided UIA), has also provided discounts. In particular, -80% for the passenger service (that is the maximum discount can provide Boryspil airport, according 327 to the order of the Ministry of infrastructure).
