Became known the fate of smartphones running Windows 10

According to recent reports, owners of these devices expect not the best news.

Corporate Vice President of operating systems group Joe Belfiore of Microsoft, spoke about what the future of the existing smartphones based on Windows 10 Mobile. He upset their few users: these devices will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10 on ARM.

According to Belfiore, Windows 10 on ARM is being developed with an eye to tablets and laptops. This means that Microsoft will suspend the development of Windows 10 Mobile and will definitely not release a full version of Windows 10 for smartphones.

Windows on ARM is a special Windows 10 adapted for computing devices with processors based on ARM cores (for example, Snapdragon 835). Microsoft has already prepared a prototype of such a gadget, it was shown at Computex in late may. The release of Windows 10 computers and ARM processors interested in several companies, including HP, Lenovo and ASUS.

It is also known that Microsoft is developing a shell CShell, due to which the Windows 10 will be able to dynamically adapt to the device, depending on its parameters (e.g., screen size). Details about this project are scarce.
