The number of victims of the earthquake on the border of Iran and Iraq has risen to 200 people. This reports the AP, citing Iranian state television.
“200 people were killed and 1686 were injured in the earthquake along the Iran-Iraq border,” – stated in the message. According to the newspaper, rescue service are currently trying to help the victims.
So, according to the latest measurements of the geological survey of the United States, an earthquake of magnitude 7 was focused on the distance of 31 km from the Eastern Iraqi city Halabja. It struck at a depth of 23.2 kilometers, which is quite small, however one which can cause wider damage.

It is noted that the quake was felt in the West, and the most damage the disaster has caused in the Western Kermanshah province, which is located in the Zagros mountains between Iran and Iraq.
