Zombie Lukianenko’s novel will be filmed

Studio “Yellow, Black & White” is developing a zombie-detective (on both!) “КваZи”, which will be an adaptation of the novel by Sergei Lukyanenko (author of Night watch, if someone does not know).

Will be directed by Alexander Voitinsky, on account of which such different films as “Black lightning”, “Tree”, “Jungle”, “Ghost” and “Santa Claus: the Battle of the magicians.” He is downright-all-trades, master – in addition to directing, he also wrote the music for several films (not just his) and a couple of mini-series.

The book was published in 2016 in the AST with a circulation of 60 thousand copies, that at the present time – super-blockbuster book market. The novel is set in Moscow in the near future when most people have become zombies, and some continue to lead a reasonable life. Such creatures are called “кваzи”.

Indicative budget of the project will amount to 200 million rubles, producers Edward Iloyan and Denis žilina hope to release the movie in theaters January 24, 2019 and to collect about 450 million at the box office.
