The President of Ukraine is ready to personally fly in the Transcarpathian region to help fight floods in the region.
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called the acting head of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Yaroslav Galas, to hear the latest information about the effects of flooding in the Transcarpathia, the press service of the regional state administration on Friday, may 24.
The President instructed the state administration to keep the situation under control and assured that if necessary, ready to personally fly in Transcarpathia to control the aftermath of a flood.
In turn, galas reported on the situation in the region in the basin of the rivers Uzh, Borzhava and Tysa reported about flooding of yards and agricultural lands, and destroyed strengthen the banks. Also talked about finding a child who fell into the river.
“A more complete picture of the devastating effects of the disaster will be known next week, right after Commission districts will conduct an inventory and assess the damage. However, it is now clear that the region will have to appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the request to allocate a region from the reserve Fund of means for elimination of consequences of bad weather”, — said galas.
