Zelensky and Merkel discussed the Normandy format

The leaders also discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, during which discussed the situation in the Donbas. This is stated in the statement of the official representative of the government of Germany Steffen Seibert on Friday, may 24.

“The subject of the conversation was in particular the bilateral cooperation between Germany and Ukraine, and internal political development in Ukraine, including the situation in the East of Ukraine”, — said in a statement.

Seibert said that the two sides also stressed the need for full implementation of the Minsk agreements and close cooperation in the Normandy format.
