People have contracted dangerous sickness during holiday vacation.
In Zaporozhye two local residents died of kidney failure after becoming infected with leptospirosis while swimming in the pond.
As the press service of Zaporizhzhya regional laboratory center of the Ministry of health of Ukraine, people infected during a holiday vacation with a dip in the pond, near which grazed cows.
The specialist health service noted that cattle could become a carrier of leptospirosis. Also dangerous to humans infection can carry dogs, rats and mice.
The infectious agents usually enter the body through the skin and mucous membranes, and then deposited in the lymph nodes and begin to actively proliferate, accumulating mainly in the kidneys, liver and Central nervous system.
As reported Корреспондент.net as of the end of August nyneshnego year in Kiev, there were eight cases of leptospirosis, one of which was fatal.
The deceased man was self-medicating and went to doctors only on the seventh day. He was taken to ICU but it was too late.
